Balmy Alley

San Francisco is well known for its murals. There is a little lane in the Mission called Balmy, which is entirely painted with murals. This is a particularly well known artist I think is hyper cool. Ryker and I would always be on the look out for murals. When we passed by one we each tried to be first to shout out "Mural".

Daddy came to Ireland for Halloween this year (2010) and we decided to go to London for the long weekend. We stayed with Cousin Janice in Ruislip and did lots of cool things, especially Legoland in Windsor.

I dressed up as a Vampire, but with a twist. I wore my bridesmaid/wedding dress and had devil horns. Daddy and I went trick or treating around Ruislip for a whle and got lots of candy. There was one house in particular that was very very scary. I was so scared!

The trip to Windsor took us on all sorts of transport options, tube, rail, bus. It took a while but we made it there to have enough time to see the entire park. It was quite cold, so Daddy let me wear Ryker's new Thomas duffle coat. Truth be told, it is a little big for Ryker so I asked if I could hold onto it for a while and give it to Ryker when I see him next. I'll wear it to school in those cold days in Winter.

I love getting my hair done, so Janice being a hairdresser I couldn't let the opportunity pass. She curled my hair just perfectly, don't you think?

Daddy and I spent the weekend in Donegal, at the Harvey's Point Hotel. I got lots of presents from California, a lovely necklace from Lisa (with little fairies), a diamond necklace with a little bear from Sarah for my poem recital, lots of Polly Pockets and Little Pony, but a few.

Last year we went to catch tadpoles in the monument in Omagh and we did the same this year too. This year I was able to catch them myself and put them in a bottle, just for a short period of time before reuniting them with others.

Hip Hop dancing in the Railway Center is lots of fun. I meet all my friends and dance and sing and laugh all evening long. I am second from the left. We danced to Annie this night.

Daddy took me for the weekend to Fermanagh where we had tea instead of McDonalds at the hotel. It snowed so I got a pair of UGGs (fake a la Dunnes) which kept me toasty warm. I did Daddy's make up again. Is he not looking "georgeous"? I told him he would. He says I have a bit of training to go before I can charge for make up.

December 2009

We celebrated Christmas in San Francisco and did all sorts of things. I arrived the Wednesday before the Friday the 25th and had a blast with Lisa, KK (Kennedy), Sarah, Ryker and Daddy. There were some gifts; a puppy to dress up being one, which I loved.

On Christmas Eve we went ice skating at the Embarcadero Centre. I used single blade skates for the first time. Ryker skated on the twin blades and just kept going all evening.
Santa came late on Christmas morning and left all sorts for me and Ryker. I got the Nintendo DSi with the Hannah Montana game; Littlest Pet Shop but the best of the best was the American doll, Chrissy from Sarah and Daddy. I decided to call her Kayla. She has many outfits, for horse riding, ice skating . . . When I come in the Summer we are going to Disney and will go to the American Doll cafe to hang out with her friends. Ryker's big toy was a firehouse, no surprise there.

Then Daddy took me to Cirque De Soliel. It was amazing, especially the green jumping lizards. And then, Sarah surprised me with a matinee at the ballet to see The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker had orange hair which I think was funny. When they danced on the stage with all the snow it was amazing. After we went to Citizen Cake, a SF institution for cakes with Ryker and Daddy and of course we had a trip to Krispy Kream for a Donut breakfast (a dozen between the three of us).

What a Happy Christmas it was.
San Francisco in the Summer, here I come!
